A Civil Celebrant is a person who is trained to design, write and deliver a range of ceremonies.

 

It is important to be aware however, that Celebrants cannot currently carry out a legal marriage or civil partnership in the UK.

 

Couples who want to have a celebrant-delivered Wedding or Civil ceremony would book and attend a short ceremony with the registrar in their local authority prior to this.
